WAAL EXPUNGEMENT LEGAL CLINICS

On June 2, 2018, the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers hosted its first expungement legal clinic in collaboration with the Urban League of Greater Madison, Foley & Lardner, LLP, Madison Area Urban Ministry, Legal Action of Wisconsin, and the State Bar of Wisconsin. Volunteer attorneys met with individuals convicted of low-level felonies and misdemeanors and helped determine if their offenses can be removed or expunged from their records.

SCHOOL CAREER DAYS

Members of the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers regularly visit schools to participate in career day. If you are interested in having a member of WAAL attend and participate in career day at your school, contact us at waalawyers@gmail.com.

YWCA COSTUME DRIVE

In support of the children of YWCA Madison, the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers hosts a Halloween Costume Drive each October. WAAL collects new and gently used Halloween costumes so that the children of YWCA could particpate in Downtown Madison's Family Halloween celebration.
